A friend of mine gave me a quote several months ago which I recently discovered and have read a few times over the last few days. It is beautiful but I think we only ever really ‘get’ the true meaning or power of words such as these when we are really ready or really need them. I believe that I was led to re-discover these words a few days ago to prepare me for a ‘rough patch’. Nothing is a co-incidence! I have had the words in the back of my mind and today I really felt their power – at the perfect time for me, having had to process some painful childhood memories. It is distressing and yet incredibly liberating to face and feel pain as it comes up in your life. Today was like that for me but I am feeling proud to have come out the other side and feel authentic and strong, albeit still a little vulnerable and in need of some self nurturing. It is life. It is real. For me, that is daring and mighty.
Here is the quote. Sadly I do not know who wrote it so cannot credit it to anyone. I hope you like it.
Remember……
Sometimes when you’re feeling your lowest, the real you is summoned.
And you understand, maybe for the first time ever, how grand you are, because you discover that vulnerable doesn’t mean powerless, scared doesn’t mean lacking in beauty and uncertainty doesn’t mean that you’re lost.
These realisations alone will set you on a journey that will take you far beyond what you used to think of as extraordinary.
There is always a bright side.
