Wow, the power of manifesting never ceases to amaze me. 4 months ago I started writing my Bag List. I wrote that I would take Finn to Paris Disneyland for his 5th birthday in May. This is no small feat for me. It isn’t a cheap trip and these days I am incredibly strapped for cash however I am never without what I need and even seem to be able to fund various ‘treats’. The money comes. The universe provides. It is astonishing. And here we are, in Disneyland! 3 months early. Priceless.
The same time that I listed Disneyland I also listed, ‘a trip to Marrakech before Christmas’, with some mates. Again, didn’t have the money and couldn’t imagine how I would manage to carve out the time for such an ‘extravagance’ without Finn. But I did. It was an incredible trip. Just a quick couple of nights but we still made it quite an adventure and I loved every second. It woke me up too. I felt alive. It was worth every single penny and the logistical summersaults required to get the time away.
It feels so great to escape my bubble at home and see the world. I travelled constantly since leaving home at 18, right up to having a child. It is in my blood to travel. I love it. I love the adventure. Different cultures. Different food. Witnessing different ways of life, reminding me that my only option isn’t just to live in a cottage in the English countryside. There are a million other ways of doing it. If I choose the cottage, then that is fine, it is my choice. But I love to keep my mind open to all possibilities. These days, my mind is very open! Yesterday was another reminder to me that the life I have now, albeit a good one, could evolve into anything of my choosing.
The constant proof of the power of intention and decision making makes me wonder why I ever doubt that I could have anything in life I desire. Mighty words. Do I dare……!?
* Picture above is of my intrepid traveller, Finn, about to board the Eurostar. He is beside himself with excitement. What a magical experience to be here in Disneyland with him. Bloody freezing but watching him in stunned silence at seeing Mickey Mouse today makes it all worthwhile! Once in a lifetime. Massive tick
