Today was a typical day in the life of Daring & Mighty :
- Status call with Jennie HK – my partner in crime on the ‘Fine to Fabulous’ workshop ( check it out: www.finetofabulousworkshop.com ). Jen is actually ‘busy’ hooning it down black runs in France somewhere……!
- Met with the ‘boys’ who prep and hand paint all my pine boards, ready for the screen-printing of our affirmation designs. We are about to do a run of boards for Valentines Day so we had a quick catch up to ensure our quality control measures were up to scratch. (By the way, the ‘boys’ are actually incredibly talented craftsmen who specialise in furniture finishings)
- Am looking for another supplier of pine wood for the affirmation art boards so met with some local furniture designers to discuss my requirements.
- Finalised a new design and selected a couple of the more popular LOVE designs to go onto our leather notebooks for Valentines Day. Can you believe it is nearly Valentines already. Lord….I am still recovering from Christmas!
- Had a catch-up call with my leather suppliers and am very excited to have ordered some WHITE leather for a new range of notebooks. Woo Hoo!
- Met with my other partner in crime, Chris, to finalise our Valentine’s production plans. He is a genius at the dying art of screen-printing (which reminds me of the campaign I wanted to launch to encourage people back to screen and away from digital….ah, for another day…..) and is the man responsible for all our gorgeous hand printed work.
- Turns out Chris is a bit of an ‘ideas man’ and today we worked on a proto-type for a leather bracelet I want to release soon. It is looking good and I am now wearing our first sample to see how it will wash and wear. Will be jumping in a hot bath soon as part of the ‘testing process’… hard life!!!
- I spoke with some local press who are interested in the ‘Fine to Fabulous’ Workshop (did I mention it was on 19th January….!?!?).
- Caught up with Patrice at ‘InHouse Space’ in Brighton who is incredibly Daring & Mighty because her gorgeous shop was the first retailer to take on our Affirmation Art Boards. And she is Australian! We talked Christmas and Valentines and how we need a bloody holiday….!
- A gazillion e-mails….
- School runs, home work & several games of ‘eye-spy’….
I reckon that is a day to be proud of.
Oh look, drink-o-clock! C’mon, I lasted 4 days…..!
