It is so important to practise self-care and to really look after yourself in order to feel connected; to maintain a high vibration; to feel in your own power so that you can serve others to your highest level. For me, self-care means nurturing both my body and my spirit – after all we are spiritual beings embodied. So my self-care ranges from meditation and journaling, burning candles, having hot baths, going to the spa for a steam, walking in nature, playing with my son and generally doing whatever I can to feel really connected. All of these practises are second nature to me. I don’t feel guilt about putting myself first in order to serve others at a high level but why is it that for some women there so much guilt associated with self-care?
It is my understanding that feeling guilt is actually a choice- you CAN actually choose not to feel guilt. I mean, who is it really serving? Sometimes all of this self-development stuff boils down to something quite simple – choice. Choose to start feeling self-love and the guilt will drop away. Vibrationally others will begin to notice. I have had clients who have ditched their guilt and embraced self-love who have had huge transformations in their relationships because they made that choice. Others were amazed at their transformation. They said, “What’s happened- you’re different”, “You’re more fun”, “I am not treading on eggshells around you anymore”. Transformation is a choice.
My challenge for you this week is to choose something that will make you feel really fulfilled, something that makes you feel like you’ve treated yourself and done something special just for you. Do this knowing that the overflow of that is going to benefit all those around you. In the moment that you begin to feel any guilt it is simple – choose not to.
Feels free to share your thoughts about guilt below. Perhaps tell us about what you did just for you this week.
