HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

It would be remiss of me not to pay attention to the fact that it was Valentine’s Day today. I am not a bitter single gal who hates to see people enjoying Valentines. Not at all. If you are loved up, I am stoked for you. Truly. When the day comes that I am all loved up, I will be sure to tell you all about it! Bring on the public displays of affection!! For now, I am content with the dinosaur card Finn made me and our romantic breakfast of pancakes with syrup!

Valentine’s Day actually reminds me of the awkward days of my youth. I would wait all day for the postman to come in the hope that I  might get an anonymous card. It never came. My little sister was the cute one who would get the cards, roses and chocolates. She was the one snogging the boys behind the bicycle shed. She was also the one flirting with MY boyfriends once we had left school. Quite the little vixen! To be fair though, I caught up and we were a formidable team in our early twenties…..  ‘nuff said!

On hearing about my romantic breakfast, Mama Guru reminded me that, ‘You can’t go wrong with a four year old. Reliable, trustworthy and honest’. Brilliant! So I embraced singledom and motherhood and went for a romantic swing in the park with Finn. It was lovely!

Happy Valentine’s my friends.
