INSPIRED BY A VOID

I believe there is a universal law which states that when you create space in your life, the void will always be filled. So, say you give up smoking. A space is created which will be filled. You can either choose to control what fills it or not. Some unconsciously fill that space with another destructive or unhelpful habit like overeating or overspending. Another option would be to take note that a gap exists and choose what you want to fill it with. Perhaps something healthy and inspirational.

I am reflecting on this just now because I recently became aware that a void was slowly developing in my life around my work. I have been trying to make decisions for some time on the direction of various projects and have been unable to come up with a quick solution. Nothing has intuitively felt right. So, I decided to sit on it and and let events play out without trying to force or control things. This has meant all sorts of aspects of these projects have essentially gone on hold. A void was created. At first the void was uncomfortable because I felt I ‘should’ be doing something. I made a decision to accept the void. Infact, I made a decision to expand it. There is all sorts of uncertainty in my life right now! To ensure I still felt in relative control, I have chosen to partially fill this void with some balancing activities such as yoga, country walks, a dietary cleanse and time with friends. I have however chosen not to fill the void completely. I am purposefully keeping some space open and asking the universe to show me inspirational, adventurous, creative, profitable and loving solutions. Interestingly, some rather specific requests are manifesting. I am being reminded of my deepest strengths and passions and am being guided by those. My creativity is bubbling. I am experiencing a general enthusiasm for life and it feels wonderful. I am still holding the void open, with purpose, knowing that I will choose what fills it.

The picture above is of a rather faded life drawing I did several years ago which I love. I went to an art exhibition this-evening and saw some life drawings which got me so excited and inspired. I am considering buying one of them. It has reminded me of my passion for drawing the female nude. It is probably my favourite thing to do and I am inspired to get back to doing more of it. Thank-you universe for this void and for delivering me this reminder at the perfect time!
