WISHING CHAIR

Wishing Chair book

On my Bag List is, ‘read Finn books which I loved as a girl’. A nice win-win. It will be fun to read a few pages every night together and I will love the chance to re-visit my childhood.

Today I decided to get away from my desk (which is my kitchen table!) and go work from a cafe. I chose one in beautiful Lewes which I had always wanted to visit and happened to be next to a shop I was doing a delivery to (watch this space for a pic of their Daring & Mighty Valentine’s window display!). Perfect. It was also part of a rabbit warren of little antique shops. Heavenly! So, I tapped away on my laptop while enjoying carrot & lentil soup. It was exactly what I was craving – a change of scene offering me the inspiration I needed to write a new Workshop I am about to launch. When I finished I decided to treat myself to a guilty pleasure – exploring antique shops and rummaging through old books, furniture and keepsakes. I love it. I found piles of original Enid Blyton books and got so excited. She is one of my favourite authors – The Famous Five. The Magic Faraway Tree. The Adventures of the Wishing Chair. I loved them all and spent hours and hours reading them as a girl. I bought The Wishing Chair for Finn. It is exactly the same book I used to have and I can’t wait to show him. I am actually itching to read it and am tempted to take it to bed with me tonight….!!

Can’t help but think that me finding ‘The Wishing Chair’ isn’t a little bit of humour and a little elbow in the ribs from the Universe. I am full of wishes right now. Absolutely exploding with them. I reckon I need a wishing chair! Perhaps I will add one to the Bag List. It shall be fuchsia pink (clearly!), velvety soft and will bring me all the adventure, wealth, love and sunshine I desire!
