Deep Body Cleanse

This week I am feeling quite evangelical about the Deep Body Cleanse that I  just finished yesterday

This is not a 3 day detox or a fad diet but rather a 28 day programme. It is about nurturing one’s body and taking care of the whole self.

As a new season comes in, I feel that it is really important to give myself the time and opportunity to really clean out on every level – physically of course but also emotionally, mentally and ultimately spiritually.

I have a busy time ahead of me just now and I began the programme because I wanted to be clear and on top of things. Admittedly my turning 40 next month was also an impetus for this cleanse as I want to go into my 40th year feeling the healthiest and fittest version of me that I can.

Obviously as someone who is passionate about self-love and self-nurture, I enlisted some help and approached my friend Henrietta Norton who is an amazing nutritionist and who has set up Wild Nutrition with her husband Charlie. I undertook their 28 day bespoke women’s full body cleanse. This is essentially designed to focus on cleaning the toxins in the liver; those that build up through what we ingest as well as those that we hold on to due to stress and environmental and lifestyle factors.

This cleanse has felt fantastic. I really believe that mental clarity has a lot to do with eating incredibly healthy food. I have been ingesting some high vibrational fruit and veg which is all organic, wholesome and some of it raw. As such, my own vibration has been raised. I am waking up with huge amounts of energy and sparkle and not going to bed totally exhausted.

So what am I eating?

I begin the day with hot water and Manuka honey and then have a spoonful of apple-cider vinegar to flush out toxins. I then drink hot water with lemon juice and have a fruit based smoothie. I snack on unlimited raw veg and fruit throughout the day and make deliciously tasty vegetable based salads for lunch. The evening meals are made up of fish or chicken dishes for protein and I have has some super curries (see the yummiest recipe below).

Am I hungry? A little. I do have a fast metabolism and I am used to the stodge of pasta so I do find that I need to eat more often but I really don’t think I am going to go back to my old eating habits as I just don’t want to put that into my body.

I share this with you because here and Daring and Mighty we are all about the combination of mind, body and spirit. I talk a lot about mindset and the spiritual work you could be doing but less about the body but it is equally important. Our body is the vehicle for our spirit to enjoy the life we are living. So why not respect our body and give it all the nurturing that we have got?

I encourage you to look at your own diet; maybe you are not ready for the full body cleanse but what else could you do for your health? Could you choose a herbal tea instead of a caffeinated one?

Could you cut down on the coffee or sugar you eat? Perhaps reduce some carbs or other certain foods that might actually be an emotional crutch rather than a desire that serves your body. I challenge you to become more conscious of what you are consuming. I guarantee your vitality will increase.

Big Love,

Katie x
