The key to success {seriously!}

I bunked off work this-afternoon to eat chocolate, drink tea and watch a funny movie. I needed a laugh, a lay down and a break.

I felt guilty while I did it.

Why?

Because, like most women, I am conditioned to believe that success is a matter of hard work.

The irony?

I am a Self-Love Mentor and I teach all day long the importance of putting yourself first, listening to your body and loving yourself enough to stop and rest when you need to. The world will not stop revolving. No-one will die.

I KNOW this and yet I kept half an eye on my emails as I ‘relaxed’.

My newsletter today is a confession of sorts.

I am just like you!

Society says that only with lots of effort, activity and in the words of a client today, ‘blood, sweat and tears’, can we expect to feel successful.

Success isn’t about doing. {That’s the masculine way}

Success is about being. {That’s the feminine way}

As I type this and reconnect to that truth, I suddenly feel all guilt wash away and I am flooded with permission to be myself.

Success is just being you. It is taking the time to connect to your desires. To listen to the callings of your heart.

What do those inner whispers say? That yearning. That longing?

We are conditioned to push and strive and try harder because apparently success is the reward.

What I have learned is that when we apply that level of tenacity and diligence and persistence to an intimate relationship with ourselves, the success we achieve is life-long lasting. It is more deeply satisfying. It feels like peace. And it’s beautiful.

To be still.

To connect with your inner muse.

To know yourself.

That takes focus and discipline.

Nothing can knock you down when you have that level of inner strength.

When your sense of self is that strong, you are not swayed.

Sure, life throws punches and there can be pain but you no longer question the very fabric of your existence.

The world doesn’t feel as if it’s falling apart around you.

You know who you are. Period.

And you are enough.

drinking tea

I choose to forgive myself for guilt tripping my desire for time out on the couch with a cuppa!

I know that success is returning to me and returning to love.

I choose to love myself enough to give myself a break when I desire it.

I desire that every woman returns to herself, loves herself and is able to be the most authentic and awesome version of herself for the people she cares about most.

What a world it would be ….

Big love,

Katie xx

THIS WEEK’S VIDEO

In this week’s video Deepak Chopra shares his views on success. His take on life is so wise – I simply had to share it.

SELF-LOVE IN ACTION

A year ago I had hypnotherapy and private coaching for public speaking. I desired so much to inspire women to what is possible for their life and no longer wanted to be muted by fear. I listened to that calling and loved myself enough to get support to make it happen.

I now speak quite often to groups of women and I love it.

This pic was taken last week at ‘The Art Of You’ – A HubDot Event at Kensington Roof Gardens.
