I fell over! A lot!

I hosted a free training call this week and as I sat down to write the content for the call, I tuned into the energy of the women who were signed up for it and I got a massive intuitive hit that they were SO READY to love themselves, be supported and get heard. I felt their overwhelm with having to be superwoman all the time. I literally got a list downloaded of everything they are juggling:

responsibilities  /  chores  /  tasks  /  self-imposed deadlines  /  over-scheduling  /  running the house  /  being the hostess with the mostess  /  being the loving doting partner  /  successful career woman  /  the mother  /  the good daughter  /  the best friend and on and on and on.

I felt the fear that was running their lives – particularly of not feeling good enough or making a mistake or letting someone down.

It all felt so HEAVY!

And yet it’s real and I get it because I used to feel like that too and hand on heart, sometimes I still do and when I do, I have learned to throw love at the situation.

So, I went to my journal and wrote about what self-love means to me and I shared my musings on my Facebook page and thought I would share it again here because I have a feeling you could do with a reminder.

I know the women on my call needed this reminder and I know I certainly do sometimes too!

“I love myself”

Self-Love is a choice. Not a destination.

Sure, there can be work involved to remove beliefs and behaviours blocking you to loving yourself but there will always be challenge, learning and growth to be had.

We are evolving and developing and growing all the time. That’s how we go to our next level – good to great to awesome and beyond!

We choose to love ourselves at every level.

When we fall down, we choose compassion – that’s self-love.

When we do great, we choose celebration – that’s self-love.

When we doubt ourselves and not feel good enough, we choose to understand why and commit to creating new beliefs that serve us – that’s self-love.

Choosing to know yourself deeply and overcoming ego to be the most loving version of you – that is self-love.

Choosing to grow and evolve, committing to yourself and your journey, highs and lows – that is self-love.

Choosing to journal or meditate or take a walk or run or whatever it is for you that has you feel an inner connection with your truth – that is self-love.

Sometimes self-love is a hot bath or a workout or a block of chocolate or a holiday or time with friends or sex or taking action on your business. It’s choosing to honour your desires.

Self-Love isn’t something to strive for. It’s not a goal to achieve.

Your inbuilt operating system is LOVE. Choosing to live your life in a way that allows love to be your guiding force – that is Self-Love.

I love myself because I CHOOSE to, every single day.

What does self-love mean to you? And, how do you choose to love yourself today?

Big love,
Katie xx

SELF-LOVE IN ACTION

You Are Enough

You are human and you are not perfect and you never will be. Self-love is continually throwing compassion and forgiveness at yourself. Perfection is choosing to love yourself in every moment, no matter how dark or light the moment.”  – some words I shared with a client on a coaching call yesterday.
