{A Month of Self Love} Saturday Self Care

Every Saturday during ‘A Month of Self Love’ I am inviting you to initiate new self care and physical wellbeing habits for the year ahead.

Are you ready to dive in?

FUEL YOUR BODY

Today I invite you to make one simple decision that you know will transform your health.

In this instance, I invite you to consider what you put into your month. What are you eating, drinking or inhaling?

Tune into your body. How are you harming it? What does it need? How can you love it?

You know your answer.

It could be that you just know you need to reduce or stop your alcohol intake. Perhaps caffeine really doesn’t agree with you. Maybe your afternoon chocolate bar needs to be given the flick. Or the smoking habit is ready to be kicked.

Today I invite you to fuel your body with what it needs. As a general rule of thumb that’s increasing your nutrients and decreasing your stimulants. A supplement regime is also a good idea and I always recommend ‘Wild Nutrition’ (get a discount using this link: CLICK).

There’s no need to overwhelm yourself with a massive new dietary commitment if that doesn’t feel good to you. Keep it simple and achievable. Just choose one thing you can change or something you can reduce. Do that until it’s your new normal. In time, you can up the anti if it’s needed.

I’ve committed to January being meat and alcohol free and I am drinking way more water (my water bottle travels everywhere with me in my handbag). This feels good to me – a semi-cleanse. Last January I did a full-on cleanse and was utterly miserable (The January Winter is tough enough in the UK!) so this year I am keeping it simple. We eat an incredibly well balanced gluten free and largely vegetarian diet already, so a couple of little tweaks is giving my organs a rest and time to replenish. Wine is my Achilles heel – and so my liver is detoxing after Christmas gluttony!

Remember, it takes 21 days to kick old habits (the tougher ones tend to take a bit longer). It’s also 21 days to instil new heathy habits. So, give yourself some time. Be kind to yourself.

Love your beautiful body – the home of your soul.

Much love,
Katie xx
