A Vision of You

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Carl Jung

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose. Brian Tracy

Visioning or creating a life vision is such an exciting and invigorating exercise. Here we get to Dream Big and ask ourselves, “What it is that I truly desire?” So many of us are afraid to dream. Why? Because we are afraid that we may not realise those dreams. But what can really be lost in the dreaming? I would suggest that taking time to write down your deepest desires, unfettered by what you perceive as your circumstances or limitations is the first and most important step in actually manifesting your vision.

So what is it that you really want? (tell me wot ya want, wot ya really really want) Is it simply to save a deposit? Pay off the mortgage? Or is it to have a pad in 4 cities? It is a fine balance between what might be a realistic dream for you and what might seem totally pie-in-the-sky right now but for the purposes of this exercise, let’s throw caution to the wind and ask yourself what it is that you truly desire. Afterall, as you begin to see manifesting at work in your life you will realise that the only real limitations we have are those we place on ourselves.

I like to undertake visioning exercises through journaling. I write down a vision of how I would like my life to be. I do this in the present tense as if the vision has already manifested. So rather than writing: “ I want… or I wish for… I write: “ I am so happy and grateful now that …” and write as if the vision has already come true.

So ask yourself: What does my work look like? What does my bank account look like? It is important to get really specific about this. Not just “A house in LA but rather, a white house with lots of natural light and a long drive with tall trees. A ginger cat… I only work 6 hour days, I do yoga in the mornings, my partner is…etc etc etc. I have this hobby, we holiday at…” you get the idea.

The more specific you can be about your vision, the greater clarity you will have about what you want to achieve and the more you will create the feelings that you want to feel in having this lifestyle. It is the feeling more than the thought that creates the form as that is where the energy of your Spirit is so be as specific as you can.

Another powerful tool for visioning is to create a Vision Board. Here you can get happy with a pile of magazines and some scissors and cut out those pictures that reflect your desires and paste them onto a board. Then you can hang it on your fridge or in your bedroom or study as a reminder of where you are headed and as a great visual way to evoke positive feelings.

Dreams and plans don’t fail, they are either realised or simply refined over time. Visioning is an empowering exercise and is really important in creating the successful life that you love. Listen to your Spirit, clarify your vision and allow you miraculous life to unfold.

Katie
