{Love Note} I have me

Note to self…(because sometimes we all need a reminder!)


It is so easy to abandon yourself – you know that feeling of being utterly alone and unsupported?


The truth is, you always have you. 


You can be there for you no matter what and when you are able to connect to that, you can regain your power, your sense of self, safety and unconditional love.


Today I would like to share with you a super simple tool that I use regularly to ground myself and be fully present and available to me.


If I feel overwhelmed or energetically scattered or scared or alone I PAUSE. I take a moment to take a breath. I put my hand on my heart and breathe into that space – my heart chakra. As I slow down and breathe – feeling the cool air enter my nostrils and the warm air leave my mouth – I remind myself that I am here for me.


I use a mantra: I am here. This is it. And it is enough.


I repeat those words over and over in my mind.


I am here. This is it. And it is enough. 


Sometimes I have a little compassionate chat with myself (silently, in my mind) and I remind myself that I am doing my best, that I am learning something new, that I am very special, loved and worthy. The chat with myself isn’t dissimilar to the way you might speak with a small child that is learning to ride a bike – she has fallen off and needs a little encouragement to get back up and try again.


I have a really strong relationship with me (I call it ‘The Self-Love Affair’) so I know the absolute truth that I always have me. That no matter what is going on in life, I can always feel safe and loved in my own skin.


Sometimes, being human, I forget that! So, I return to my self-love tools. Taking a breath, saying a mantra and having a compassionate conversation with myself always does the trick!
